Booking.com Barcelona Scam - I Lost My Apartment, They Stole My Money
We rented an apartment in Barcelona, Spain, through their platform, and when we arrived, it had been rented out to someone else! We were told by the owner that we had been sold an apartment that didn't even belong to them. This is an outrageous scam.
We immediately tried to contact Booking.com for hours, but they provided no solution whatsoever. Left stranded, we had no choice but to find a hotel on our own, which, predictably, cost us significantly more than the apartment we booked. Despite providing Booking.com with all the details of the price difference, they have refused to refund us the extra cost, leaving us completely victimized.
How can such a massive company operate with such blatant disregard for its customers? We are formally lodging a complaint and will pursue our rights through every available channel. Booking.com, you need to rectify this immediately! Refund the difference in cost for the hotel and compensate us for the immense distress you caused. Be warned: others should be extremely cautious when using Booking.com to avoid suffering the same fate.
