Booking Does Not Resolve The Price Discrepancy Issue

I made a reservation through Booking.com under reservation number 6186987885 for Deluxe Aparthotel Orbi City in Batumi, Georgia, from September 1–14, with a confirmed price of 694 GEL and a free cancellation option until 6:00 PM on September 1. The property offered payment on-site. When I tried to change the dates, the property refused, so we adjusted our plans accordingly. Upon arriving at 2:00 PM on September 1, the staff demanded 1,750 GEL and stated that if we canceled, 50% of the amount would still be charged—even though the free cancellation period had not expired. The owner, A***, was rude and told us to solve the issue with Booking. Other guests were facing the same problem. Exhausted and with no other option, we reluctantly paid 1,750 GEL by credit card, but the owner insisted that we withdraw cash and took us elsewhere to collect the payment. Despite breakfast being included in the booking, it was never provided. The towels were dirty, and the TV was broken; when we asked for a replacement, the owner promised to fix it in two days but later ignored our calls. We repeatedly emailed Booking but only received delayed, automated replies, and since we were abroad without a local phone line, we couldn’t call. The lack of a live support or WhatsApp helpline for such a large company is disappointing. We had a similar issue in Romania before, where a property listed on Booking was sold to multiple people. I have all documents, including the price confirmation and free cancellation policy. It is unacceptable that the property overcharged us, failed to deliver the promised services, and that Booking remained unresponsive. I request a refund of the 1,056 GEL difference between the charged and confirmed amounts, an explanation for this serious issue, and an apology for the poor customer support experience.
