Booking.com Hotel Overcharge in Batumi: 200 GEL Extra Payment Demanded
I booked Panaroma King Suite Sea View Hotel Batumi through Booking.com for my family from September 1 to September 4, 2025. At the time of reservation, the total price was clearly shown as 362.49 GEL. My reservation confirmation number is 5111****13.
However, upon arrival at the hotel, we were unexpectedly told that we needed to pay 562.49 GEL, which is 200 GEL more than the confirmed booking price. Being in a foreign city with my family, I had no choice but to pay the extra amount in cash to avoid further issues during check-in.
This is a clear case of price manipulation and unfair charging, as the confirmed price on Booking.com should have been honored without additional demands. I also attempted to reach Booking.com customer service, but I could not get through to anyone for assistance.
I request:
The immediate refund of the 200 GEL overcharge, and
Assurance that such unfair practices will be prevented for future customers.
Booking.com should take responsibility for ensuring hotels comply with the prices shown on their platform and protect travelers from this type of unjust treatment.
I expect a prompt resolution and refund for the unfairly collected amount.
