I rented a car from 387 Rent A Car Skopje via Booking.com, and it turned into a complete scam. First, it was extremely difficult to contact them by phone, and when they finally arrived an hour late, they demanded a €1,700 deposit—which I refused.
Then, they tried to pressure me into paying €400 for extra insurance, which suddenly dropped to €200 when I declined—a clear red flag. The car they provided was extremely dirty, both inside and out, making it impossible to inspect for pre-existing damage.
Upon returning the vehicle, they falsely claimed I caused a tiny scratch on the rear bumper and demanded €400. I had taken a video upon pickup, but due to the car's filthy condition, it was impossible to notice such minor details. Despite explaining this, they refused to listen and deliberately delayed the process, knowing my flight was departing soon.
They then threatened to withhold my entire deposit unless I paid. To avoid missing my flight, I reluctantly gave them €100, yet when I returned home, they charged an additional $266 to my credit card without authorization.
Do not rent from this company! They prey on travelers with hidden charges and scam tactics to extract ten times the original rental cost. Booking.com must stop listing such fraudulent businesses. I demand a full refund and immediate action against this company!
