Black+Decker Cordless Vacuum Turbo Head Issue – Denied Warranty for Internal Part Defects
On June 8, 2024, I took my 3-month-old Black+Decker bhfvev 182 CP cordless vacuum to Media Markt due to a non-functional Turbo head. The service center fixed an electrical issue in the head but claimed that the gears inside were deformed and noisy, offering a paid replacement. I argued that I couldn’t have damaged an internal, sealed component within such a short time, and this shouldn’t be my responsibility.
They stated the Turbo head shouldn’t be used on carpets at the third power level, as it could cause these issues, and this wouldn’t be covered under warranty. However, I only use the vacuum on hard floors, and the manual doesn’t mention any restrictions on using the Turbo head at higher power. I raised concerns about why this critical part wasn’t built stronger, why there’s no stop mechanism to prevent damage, and why this isn’t stated in the manual.
It’s frustrating that only electrical issues are covered under warranty, while battery and internal components are excluded. This experience makes me feel that consumers are being taken advantage of, and I request Black+Decker to provide better support and transparency for Turkish customers, honoring warranty claims on critical parts.
