Samsung QE55QN85C Panel Failed 9 Months After Warranty

In November 2023, I purchased a Samsung QE55QN85C television in Istanbul. Until August 2026, the TV was used under normal home conditions and without any user error. In August 2026, the screen started flickering, the image kept cutting in and out, the device began to overheat excessively, and there was even a faint smell coming from inside the TV. I contacted the Samsung service center, and they informed me that the problem was a panel failure. They stated that the panel replacement would cost ₺43,000 and that they would get back to me after consulting the central office for a free replacement or a possible discount. A few days later, they called again and said that since the warranty had expired 9 months ago, they would not provide a free panel replacement or any discount on the repair. A television that would cost around ₺80,000 today having a panel failure just 9 months after the warranty period, despite no user-related fault, and then being asked to pay ₺43,000 for the repair is completely unacceptable to me. This situation makes me think that Samsung’s product quality understanding has deteriorated and that the company does not stand behind its products and acts irresponsibly toward consumers. A television is not a product that is purchased to be used for only two and a half years. I request that Samsung apologize for this experience, carry out the panel replacement free of charge, and ensure that my inconvenience is fully resolved.
