The Asics Gel-Nimbus 26 running shoes I purchased completely fell apart in just one year—and I’m not talking about heavy-duty use. I run around 20K per week, which is considered light to moderate by any standard. What’s frustrating is that Asics promotes this shoe as a top-tier model built for professional long-distance runners, yet it couldn’t even last 12 months under normal usage.
When I sent the shoes in for inspection, Asics flatly rejected my claim, saying the damage was not due to a manufacturing or material defect. Their customer service told me the issue wasn’t covered and blamed it on “user error.” How is that even possible? Am I supposed to believe that normal running somehow caused the materials to break down this badly? What do they think we’re doing—running with nails in our shoes?
These shoes cost nearly ₺8,000, and clearly, they’re not built to last. If Asics is selling footwear that disintegrates after one year of normal use, they need to be transparent about that up front. Consumers don’t spend this kind of money expecting to throw their shoes out annually.
I’m extremely disappointed and will never purchase Asics again. For a brand that claims to support serious runners, their product durability and post-sale support are seriously lacking. If they can’t stand behind their premium products, then they shouldn’t be charging premium prices.
