Turkish Airlines Compensation Request for Spoiled Items From Delayed Baggage

To the Attention of Turkish Airlines Authorities, Following my flight numbered TK2340 on April 10, 2025, arriving at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, my baggage was not delivered to me and I was informed that it had remained in Istanbul. I have submitted the necessary claim and my PIR report number is 2025072227. My baggage was delivered [2 days later], and inside the suitcase were perishable food items that had been fully frozen, carefully packaged, and prepared for proper transportation. These included 2 kg of salmon (₺800), 5 kg of red meat (₺2,000), 3 kg of sheep cheese (₺1,500), mixed luxury nuts (price not specified), various handmade food items (approx. ₺2,000), and a suitcase worth ₺1,500. Due to the delay, all the food items thawed and became inedible, and the suitcase was contaminated by the spoiled contents, rendering it unusable. I was forced to discard everything. This has caused significant material and emotional distress. I have supporting documents, including photos of the damaged items and official delay records. The estimated total damage is around ₺8,000. In accordance with the Montreal Convention and passenger rights, I kindly request that Turkish Airlines compensate me for this loss and inform me of the actions to be taken. Sincerely, Zelal İ***.
