A warning to soon-to-be-married couples: Anyone buying anything from Vivense will regret it, take it from me. Don’t end up like us. Our wedding is on July 7, 2024, but we don't have a sofa to sit on, thanks to Vivense. We paid upfront for a sofa set at the Vivense store on the Ankara-Istanbul road on November 30, 2023, to avoid price hikes for our July wedding. At the beginning of June, we called to check on the delivery, as the delivery date was supposed to be June 10. Vivense then informed us that our order was canceled in February because they ended their contract with the supplier. We only found out because we called. When we questioned why we weren't informed, they casually replied that the person handling our order had left the company. Where's the professionalism in that?
To supposedly address our inconvenience, Ms. M**** suggested an alternative sofa set. Though it wasn’t our first choice, we accepted it out of desperation. And what happened next? Vivense demanded more money, stating there was a price difference for the new set. If they had based this on the November 2023 price, it might have been understandable, but they were charging the current price. This is completely unethical. Additionally, our original sofa was white, but the replacement they suggested was brown. They said if we wanted white, it would cost even more, as if it was our fault!
With our wedding fast approaching, we have neither a solution nor a sofa set. This week, I will first file a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee and, if they don't back down on the price difference, I will pursue legal action for both the inconvenience and compensation. They’ve severely affected my mental well-being during one of the most stressful and financially demanding times in my life. I won’t forgive or forget this injustice!
