VFS Global Fails to Cancel Our Appointment

I booked an appointment with the French Consulate in Ankara through the VFS Global France website for December 8, 2023. Later, we needed to cancel this appointment and schedule a new one due to an inconvenience. When we called Customer Service to cancel the December 8th appointment, they instructed us to send an email for cancellation. We followed through, and they assured us of cancellation, but it never happened. For an entire week, we were strung along with promises like, 'We'll cancel it today, tomorrow,' only to find out later that the appointment had indeed been canceled. However, due to the inadequacy of VFS's website infrastructure, the canceled appointment still appears in the system, preventing us from scheduling a new one. The VFS appointment system doesn't allow two separate appointments with the same passport number. Since they haven't removed the canceled appointment from the system, we can't book a new one, leaving us increasingly distressed each passing day. Despite daily emails to VFS, they insist on waiting and claim it will be resolved within 48 hours. Weeks have gone by, and the colossal French Consulate seems oblivious to the irresponsibility of working with such an inefficient intermediary. All we ask is for them to promptly cancel and remove the appointment from the system, but they seem incapable. Time is against us as our travel date approaches, and we're left in limbo, not knowing what to do. The website's shortcomings have cost us not only money but also the ability to secure a new appointment. We call, we write, but find no one willing to address our concerns. All we hear is 'Wait.' It's high time they expedite the cancellation and removal of this appointment from the system.
