USPS International Package Returned From Istanbul Before Customs
A package that my cousin in the United States sent to me arrived in Istanbul but was returned to the U.S. without ever being processed through customs. I have a tracking number, and I have been dealing with this issue for about 2–3 weeks. I contacted USPS customer service about the matter and also consulted the postal authority in Turkey. The postal authority in Turkey told me that packages can no longer be sent from Turkey to the United States; however, my package was coming from the United States to Turkey, so that explanation does not apply to my situation.
The package did not contain any prohibited items, and I did not pay any additional fees during shipment. However, the package was returned without even being taken into customs in Istanbul. I would like a clear explanation regarding this situation—why was my package returned without being delivered? I want to know the exact reason.
