On 04.12.2025 at around 08:35, I requested a taxi via Uber from Ankara, Çankaya. The driver who accepted my request was named E*** and the vehicle plate number was 06 T 3373. Although the car initially appeared to be approximately 7–8 minutes away, the driver unnecessarily extended the route and his arrival time increased to about 14–15 minutes. Since I was on my way to work and in a hurry, I felt compelled to wait because I was worried Uber would charge me a fee if I cancelled the trip myself. Even though the driver came as close as the street below mine, he suddenly started moving away from my location again. I sent him messages through the app and also tried to call him, but he did not respond in any way and did not answer the phone. In the end, I had to cancel the trip. Although I was not charged a cancellation fee, I experienced a serious loss of time and inconvenience due to this situation for a ride that would normally cost around ₺150. What makes the situation even more frustrating is that there is no effective complaint system within the Uber app where I can report this incident in detail. It is not acceptable that a trip must be completed in order to file a complaint and that there appears to be no proper sanction for such arbitrary behaviour by drivers. In my opinion, such abuses should not be allowed in an application that people especially use when they are in a hurry. I request that Uber carry out the necessary investigation regarding the driver named E*** with plate number 06 T 3373, impose an appropriate penalty, and ensure that this incident is clearly reflected in his rating. In addition, in such cases where the driver deliberately does not come to pick up the passenger, I believe passengers should receive a symbolic compensation of around ₺50–100 to offset the time they have lost. I also request that Uber establish a mechanism that allows passengers to effectively rate drivers and submit complaints even if the trip has not been completed.
