Turkish Airlines Ticket Change Issue with Incorrect Date
On September 6th at 1:30 AM, I went to Esenboğa Airport for my flight from Ankara to Ireland. My visa had expired, and I hadn't noticed. Since there was time before my flight, I decided to change my ticket. By mistake, I changed my ticket to Naples for November 25th instead of October 25th. I was supposed to attend an academic meeting in Naples. I drove back home. Meanwhile, they gave me a paper stating that there was a ₺1180 difference due to the higher tax on my previous ticket, and I was told to collect this from an office in Ankara since they had no cash at the counter. On September 11th, I went to the THY office located on Atatürk Boulevard in Ankara. I realized I had booked the wrong date for the Naples ticket and thought I could change it. I couldn't do anything. They not only couldn't refund my money but also told me that my ticket was a promotional one and couldn't be changed, so it would be forfeited. I returned with two incorrect pieces of information. I wrote to the communication center, and every time I received a response saying they couldn't do anything. I wasn't informed that my ticket wasn't promotional and could be changed within the rules. Today, the change fee has increased and keeps rising. I wrote to CIMER and am waiting for a response. I went to the Esenboğa office again and found out that my ticket wasn't promotional. Now, I am the one suffering due to the incorrect information provided by THY officials. I condemn THY. It has become an institution that aggressively approaches and works with the greed to take your money. They are constantly trying to take more money from you. Despite having already paid more than the current ticket price, they are still asking for more money, which is very upsetting... Let's use other Turkish airlines from now on... I don't know if this situation can be resolved, but don't fall into the same situation.
