Turkish Airlines Poor Treatment and Flight Issues
We started waiting at 16:30. The same procedure happened again this time. Finally, we went again and said we came with Mr. A**'s information. We mentioned that we were reported as standby on all Cyprus flights, and again the same official, gate officer M***o***, told us that he did not know anyone named Mr. A**. I told him that we came on the 13:20 flight and asked, you said okay then, how come you don't know now? He also said there was no empty seat and no one called about any standby or transfer. Despite there being 17 empty seats on the plane, we were not allowed to board again. Then an argument broke out, and they canceled our 01:05 flight ticket as well. We spent 16 hours sleeping on chairs at the airport and had to buy food and water. We spent over ₺2000 just on snacks, and couldn't even afford a proper meal because it was so expensive. Turkish Airlines supposedly has meal vouchers and accommodation services, but they didn't mention any of them. It felt like there was a special unit dedicated to preventing us from boarding rather than helping us. Naturally, I got angry and an argument broke out. Despite being so victimized, I had to go to the police to give a statement, and after all that happened, the other party had no fault, and I was banned from Turkish Airlines for 10 years. It's called Turkish Airlines, but we, as Turkish citizens, are treated like second-class citizens. Is it because we don't pay in dollars or euros?
