Hong Kong Airlines Delays Flight 5 Hours and Delivers Broken Luggage

September 9, 2025 2:24 PM

On September 8, 2025, I flew on Hong Kong Airlines flight HX604 from Hong Kong to Tokyo. My flight was delayed by 5 hours, and upon arrival, my baggage was delivered broken.

Furthermore, I had purchased additional baggage protection service when buying my ticket. When I applied at their airport office, they simply gave me a form and told me that my grievance could be resolved through the insurance company in Turkey. No other solution was offered, and I was left stranded with my broken suitcase.

My broken suitcase has no brand name; I purchased it about 2 years ago for $250, and it is a large-size suitcase. In total, I paid $138 for the ticket and baggage protection. This is the first time I have experienced such a situation.

I demand that Hong Kong Airlines resolve my grievance, replace my broken suitcase, or refund the equivalent value to me.
