Turkish Airlines' Mistreatment Is Unacceptable

On 24.09 at 11:15, we booked a ticket for my grandmother on a THY flight from Mardin. I even paid extra to arrange her seat, ensuring she sits in the front since she is 80 years old. Later, we called to request a wheelchair. Your staff asked, 'Can’t she walk at all?' What kind of ridiculous question is that? If she could walk, why would we request one? Are we crazy? When I explained that she gets short of breath, they noted her as a COPD patient in the system.

I am 30 years old, and even if I walk, I get short of breath sometimes. But I am not a COPD patient. On what grounds do you write such a thing in the system? When we arrived at the airport in the morning, they provided a regular wheelchair instead of the usual motorized one. They asked her to carry her own bag. How disrespectful is that? Where is your company's dignity? Later, a doctor friend mentioned that they noted her as a COPD patient in the system, and now they are asking for a report for a non-existent illness. You made the diagnosis, so you provide the report?

What right do you have to make an 80-year-old woman go through such things early in the morning? If your wheelchairs are so precious, offer the service for a fee. But I am sure we would still face issues even if we paid. You are a big company, right? The bottom line is, remove the COPD diagnosis your staff wrote about my grandmother.

If we face similar problems on the return flight, believe me, I will use all my power to address this. Lastly, on the return flight, you will treat my grandmother like royalty. Not just with a simple apology. As compensation for your wrongdoing, you will treat her like royalty!
