Starbucks Customer Could Not Use Stars During Snoopy Cup Promotion

On September 19, 2026, I visited your Starbucks Ege Boyu location to take advantage of the Snoopy-themed reusable cup promotion advertised in the app and, at the same time, use my Rewards Stars to get a drink. However, at the register, I was told that I could not redeem my Stars for a complimentary drink because a free cup was being provided as part of the promotion. As a result, I was told that I could not use my Stars.

The information provided on Starbucks’ official website and in the app clearly states that Stars can be used to redeem certain drinks. When I reviewed the promotion terms, I could not find any statement indicating that participating in the free cup promotion would eliminate my right to redeem Stars. Despite this, the store simply told me that they could not allow it, without providing a specific explanation as to why I could not use my Stars.

One of the employees at the store told me that if I had a complaint about the matter, I could write to whoever I wanted and said that this information had come from their regional managers. Nevertheless, because of what I believe was an application of the promotion that conflicted with the stated terms, I was unable to use my Stars and felt that I was treated unfairly as a customer.

I request that the Snoopy-themed reusable cup promotion, which was stated to be valid from September 19 through September 20, 2026, be implemented in a way that does not conflict with the Rewards Stars redemption rights stated in the app and on the website. I also request that the relationship between the promotion and Stars redemption be clearly explained and that I receive a clear, written explanation regarding what happened. In addition, I expect a customer-focused solution to be provided to address the negative experience I had at the store.
