Turkish Airlines Staff Complaint Regarding Ticket Approval
On November 20, 2023, we approached your Turkish Airlines TK 2852 flight departing from Ordu-Giresun at 18:35 for ticket approval at Istanbul Airport. We explained my health issue to the male Turkish Airlines staff member next to the Air Club employees' desk. I informed him that I had undergone hip replacement surgery a week ago and showed the doctor's report. I mentioned that last year, the Air Club staff made me walk quickly, causing my legs to swell and resulting in issues, hence I needed to be taken to my seat on the plane. The male staff member asked if I could take a few steps. I replied no, and when he asked, 'Can't you take a few steps at all?', I explained that I could manage a few steps to move from seat to seat, but nothing more. He said 'Okay,' and I was taken to the plane's entrance gate. While waiting, I asked my spouse to check my ticket, and we saw that I was assigned seat 19/F. When we inquired with the staff there, they said my ticket was processed to be taken to the plane entrance by wheelchair, and it was recorded that I would walk with crutches on the plane. They corrected this over the phone, ensuring that I would be taken to my seat by wheelchair. The Air Club staff who came to assist me stated that they were told I would walk on the plane and had not been informed otherwise. Ultimately, after much discussion, I was taken to my seat by wheelchair, but only due to my insistence. Such behavior from the staff of a company like Turkish Airlines is unacceptable and does not reflect well on your institution. I am filing a complaint against the concerned staff member and will escalate my complaint to higher authorities if necessary.
