Turkish Airlines Incorrect Ticketing by Customer Service
Turkish Airlines offered free cancellation/change rights... For flights between August 13 and September 10, due to operational reasons, we were given free cancellation/change rights for two different PNRs (tng2d6) and (vlsust). We contacted customer service to change the dates of these two PNR-coded flights. During a call on July 27, 2023, at 16:51 (27 minutes 26 seconds), we were informed that both ticketing processes could be done with the same outbound and return flights.
We were told that we could change the flight dates to August 6 for departure and August 26 for return. After the customer representative completed the ticketing for the PNR (tng2d6) flight with the dates of August 6 for departure and August 26 for return, they said there was no availability on the other flight. As a solution, they suggested that both ticketing processes could be done for August 7 for departure and August 26 for return.
I mentioned that I needed to check if those dates were suitable for my mother. The representative said they would wait on the line. However, the call was terminated, and despite waiting, there was no follow-up for the incomplete process. One of my flights was changed, while the other remained the same. Later, when I contacted customer service, they requested a fee to change the ticket issued for August 6. My mother, aunt, and uncle are elderly people. I was left in a difficult situation.
I request a follow-up. Otherwise, I will take my case to the Consumer Arbitration Committee. People are being put in difficult situations. If there was a possibility of no availability on the same flight, a reservation should have been made for August 6 instead of ticketing, and then ticketing could have been done after checking the other flight. Now, I can't even cancel the ticket after it's been issued. I request that my tickets be arranged for departure on August 7 and return on August 26.
