Turkish Airlines Flight Delayed 7 Hours, Poor Management

On 11.06.2024 at 21:30, the Rize-Ankara flight was reported to be delayed by 2.5 hours due to a lack of personnel, but there was constant confusion. One person asked us to change to the 08:15 morning flight, but I had purchased the evening flight ticket for ₺2250 because I urgently needed to travel, even though the morning flight was ₺1000. Another person mentioned that the plane might arrive at night, but it was not certain. After a while, we were informed that there were no seats left on the morning flight. Passengers who managed to change their tickets to the morning flight were taken to a hotel, which was also poorly managed. A minibus took several trips to transport everyone, which took hours. I was among those waiting at the terminal, and we were only given water and crackers as food. I believe this is not in accordance with regulations. The food outlets were closed, and people were left hungry for hours. Around 03:00, we were informed that the plane had departed from Ankara. We finally flew at 04:30, 7 hours after the scheduled time. According to regulations, I request compensation of €100 for the exceeded waiting time. Additionally, I am complaining about the Jet personnel at Rize Airport for not providing sufficient information and proper meals. Children and adults were left waiting for hours with only crackers and water. A lawyer among the passengers wrote a petition and collected signatures from us. I want to inform you that all passengers on the flight signed this petition.
