Turkish Airlines Flight Delay, Airport Change, and Lost Baggage
On my Adana-Moscow flight with a transfer in Istanbul, the Adana flight was delayed, causing us to barely make our Moscow flight with my two small children. Instead of landing at Vnukovo Airport at 11 AM as scheduled, we landed at Domodedovo Airport. My husband, who came to pick us up at Vnukovo, had to travel to the other airport because of this change.
We landed at Domodedovo at 11 AM and were kept on the plane for 3 hours before the captain announced we would be heading back to Vnukovo. During this time, my husband arrived at Domodedovo. We took off again and landed at Vnukovo, causing my husband to travel back from Domodedovo to Vnukovo.
After landing at Vnukovo, I went to the baggage claim area to retrieve my luggage. After all the bags were collected, I realized my luggage was missing. When I asked the staff, they informed me that my luggage was left behind in Istanbul. This added to the already stressful situation. I learned that my luggage would be sent on the next flight from Istanbul. I filled out a form and waited for the next flight. We landed in Moscow at 11 AM, but I could only leave the airport at 8 PM. My family, including my two children and my husband who came to pick us up, were all greatly inconvenienced. Unfortunately, the THY representative in Moscow did not assist us in any way.
