I have a 10-year-old disabled son and wanted to use my discounted disabled and companion rights with Turkish Airlines (THY). They informed me that I needed to first register for a Miles&Smiles membership and then provide feedback to benefit from the discount. I followed their instructions, and both the disabled and companion discounts were applied through the system. However, when I tried to purchase a ticket on the THY online site, the disabled discount did not appear. I called the customer service center, explained the situation, and requested my ticket to be issued. They told me I needed to go to a THY sales office for the companion discount. I went to the office and explained the situation. They said the discounted ticket would be around ₺3750, whereas I could buy it online without the discount for ₺3600. When I asked about the difference, they said this is how the system works. In conclusion, I want to point out that if your slogan is to overcome obstacles together with disabled individuals, why are you unfairly creating obstacles for disabled individuals? You are not allowing me to use my rightful benefits. If you, THY, the pride and apple of our country's eye, are doing this to citizens, I can't imagine the rest.
