I wanted to utilize Turkish Airlines (THY) discounted fares for disabled passengers and their companions because I have a disabled 10-year-old son. They instructed me to become a member of Miles & Smile, provide feedback, and only then receive the discounts. The system granted both the disabled and companion discounts after I followed their instructions. The disabled discount was not applied when I attempted to book a ticket via the THY website. I contacted the call center, explained the situation, and requested that the companion discount be applied to my ticket. However, I was instructed to visit a THY sales office in order to receive the companion discount. I visited the office and explained the situation, but was informed that the discounted ticket would cost approximately 3,750 Turkish Lira, whereas I could purchase it online for approximately 3,600 Turkish Lira without the discount. I was informed that this was how the system worked when I inquired about the price difference. In conclusion, I wish to express my disappointment. Why does Turkish Airlines, which promotes the slogan "We Will Overcome Barriers Together," unjustly create barriers for disabled people? You are preventing me from exercising my privilege. If this is how you treat your citizens, I shudder to consider the rest. Turkish Airlines' conduct in this matter has been a source of immense disappointment for disabled passengers, leaving them frustrated and feeling as if they're being denied their legitimate rights.
