Turkish Airlines Delayed My Flight and Provided Poor Customer Service

On the morning of November 1, 2023, I completed my military service in Kütahya and aimed to reunite with my family by flying from Kütahya to Istanbul and then from Istanbul to Kayseri. Due to an error by Turkish Airlines, I was left waiting for 8-9 hours and reached my family in a distressed state. My TK2020 Istanbul - Kayseri flight was scheduled for 18:50 on November 1, 2023.

Due to a malfunction in Turkish Airlines' systems, flights between 19:00 and 22:00 were canceled, but my flight initially showed only a 1-hour delay. After waiting for 1 hour, another hour was added, and this continued until the flight finally departed at 2:40 AM. If I had taken the 2 AM flight from Istanbul, it would have cost ₺1800, but I paid ₺4800 to get home earlier. The staff were rude, offering only stale sandwiches and water despite claiming to provide food and beverages. Although I was entitled to hotel accommodation, they kept adding +1 hour delays and stated, 'Since the flight is not canceled, we cannot offer hotel service.' This resulted in a terrible journey. I expect compensation for the financial and emotional distress caused by Turkish Airlines. Otherwise, I will file a complaint with the consumer board with all the evidence I have.
