Turkish Airlines Delayed My Flight and Made Me Miss a Family Funeral
On November 10, 2024, I chose Turkish Airlines flight TK 2752 to travel to Van with my wife and two children after receiving devastating news about a funeral. We were trying to make it to the funeral on time. The flight, which was supposed to land in Van at 7:30 PM, landed in Diyarbakır at 10:00 PM due to a technical issue, resulting in a nearly 5-hour journey. Traveling with two children became increasingly difficult as the extended trip made them restless. We were told to continue by bus, which would take another 8 hours. Had I taken a bus from Istanbul to Van, I would have arrived faster and paid ₺1750 per ticket instead of ₺4400. We were severely inconvenienced—my children cried a lot, we missed the funeral, and we were deeply distressed. I wrote to Turkish Airlines about this, but I have received no response. I request that my grievance be addressed.
