Turkish Airlines Delayed Compensation for the Missed Connecting Flight
On 27.07.2023, due to a delay in my first flight with THY, I missed my connecting flight. I was informed that I would be issued a new ticket and accommodated on a different flight, but this did not happen. THY refused to pay the €200 compensation I was entitled to. After reporting the issue to the civil aviation authority, they decided that I should receive a €200 voucher on 23.08.2023.
In the email sent by THY on 23.08.2023, it was stated that I needed to provide feedback to receive the compensation in cash. On 24.07.2023, as instructed, I sent my bank account details requesting compensation in cash. I was told I would receive a response within 14 days.
Today is the 28th day, and I still have not received the payment. When I contacted customer service, they informed me that my case is still under review and that the process could take a long time without providing a specific timeframe. I am really disappointed with the poor service and the reluctance to provide the legally entitled compensation. It seems that THY's reputation and quality are just for show.
