Turkish Airlines Damaged My Luggage, But Didn't Compensate It
Frustrated! On February 13, 2023, upon arriving at Istanbul airport, both of my suitcases were damaged beyond use. (This has happened every time I've traveled abroad with THY, my luggage always ends up unusable. If THY provides excellent service worldwide, where do we stand?) Despite my persistent efforts, I was only given one new (lowest quality) suitcase. For the second suitcase, I reapplied to the Turkish Airlines office at Istanbul airport. They requested that I send photos of the broken suitcase online, promising compensation. I sent the photos multiple times but received no satisfactory response. For 10 months, I have been requesting compensation for a suitcase, which apparently would 'strain Turkish Airlines' budget,' and I am now exhausted. Finally, they told me to get it repaired, and send the receipt and photos. I lost all trust and do not believe they will pay. Therefore, I cannot get it repaired. You broke my suitcase, and now I have to spend time and effort to get it fixed? Every time I apply, I hear the same response - 'I am forwarding your request to the relevant department.' I guess I am not Turkish enough for a positive response from the relevant department. May God forgive our shortcomings. Amen. No need to respond. Safe flights.
