Turkish Airlines Changed Airline Without Notice
Hello,
On February 18th, my friends and I specifically bought round-trip tickets from Turkish Airlines to travel from SAW to Amsterdam.
For my outbound ticket, I had an 8kg cabin baggage allowance and meal option. For my return ticket, I had an 8kg cabin baggage allowance, a 23kg checked baggage allowance, and meal option. I chose Turkish Airlines because of these benefits and my trust in the airline. Unfortunately, my trust has been shattered.
Shortly before the flight, I received a message stating there was an 'operational change' to the flight. The message provided no further details. I assumed only the flight code (aircraft) had changed.
The day before the flight, when I couldn't check in, I called Turkish Airlines and learned that the airline had changed. During the call, I was assured that my benefits would remain the same, so I didn't make any changes.
We specifically requested meal options when purchasing the tickets, but on the new flight, even water was sold to us, and we were told that since Turkish Airlines customer information hadn't been transferred to the new airline, we could only purchase meals.
1. An airline company cannot be changed without informing us. When we mentioned this at the counter, we were told that as of March, Anadolu Jet and Turkish Airlines had separated, and codes starting with 'TK7...' were Anadolu Jet. However, as a customer, I cannot know this without being informed by you! I don't know what the codes mean, and the new code also starts with 'TK'.
2. The meal option, which I paid for within the ticket and was one of the reasons I chose Turkish Airlines, cannot be taken away from me. Even if there is a change, this inconvenience should be addressed.
3. The Turkish Airlines aircraft/flight, which I considered safe, was completely changed, making me feel unsafe on the day of the flight.
Due to this inconvenience, I request a refund for my benefits or an offer to compensate for my inconvenience with the flight ticket. I want my inconvenience to be addressed.
