Turkish Airlines Broken Luggage Issue on Izmir-Las Vegas Flight

February 21, 2024 10:12 AM1

Hello,

I purchased a ticket for a direct flight from Izmir to Las Vegas through the Turkish Airlines website. During check-in at the airport, we were informed that we could not collect our luggage at the final destination because the second leg of the journey was with a different airline, and due to customs procedures in a different country, we needed to collect our luggage in Seattle and then recheck it for the next flight. We followed these instructions, but upon collecting our luggage in Seattle, we found that they were broken. We immediately reported this to the on-site staff, who provided us with an email address and instructed us to send photos along with the baggage tags. After sending the email, we were redirected to the Turkish Airlines website. Despite having reported damaged luggage several times before, the latest message informed us that the 7-day period had expired and the case was closed. We were forced to carry around broken luggage and then told, 'Sorry, the time has passed.' I have the email I sent to the staff member and the damage reports I created. Photos and baggage tags are available. I expect a resolution.

Best regards.
