Turkish Airlines Damaged My Luggage and Delayed the Compensation
On October 20th, during a Turkish Airlines flight from Ankara to Izmir, two of my suitcases were damaged. Reports were filed, and we were instructed to send the suitcases for repair. We did so and, after receiving the invoices, submitted all documents to Turkish Airlines.
We completed and sent all the necessary documents. Turkish Airlines forwarded these documents to their payment and compensation department. The compensation for the damaged suitcases was supposed to be deposited within 13 business days. However, to date, no payment has been made, and we are constantly being stalled.
We are requesting either the return of our suitcases or the payment of their value from Turkish Airlines. The suitcases were damaged on October 20th, and as we enter January 2024, this issue remains unresolved. The matter is continually being delayed.
I am closely following this issue and see that people are being both wronged and victimized.
I called Turkish Airlines for almost three months. After finally indicating that I would resort to legal action, Turkish Airlines apologized for a technical issue and deposited the money for the luggage into my account the next day. Although the payment was made late, I didn't let it go.
The payment was made, albeit late THY disappointed us in this luggage incident
