Miscommunication and Delays on Turkish Airlines Flight
I arrived at the airport 45 minutes before my 23:55 Ankara-Malatya flight on 06.08.2023, only to be told by the staff that I was late and they couldn't take my baggage. I was given a late check-in card. I asked the same staff member if I could buy a new ticket from Istanbul, and they said I could. About half an hour later, I called Turkish Airlines customer service and asked the same question to a representative named A***, who confirmed that I could buy a ticket from either Ankara or Istanbul airport sales offices, depending on availability. Based on this information, I returned to Esenboga Airport to purchase a new ticket. However, when I presented my late check-in card to the sales office staff, they informed me that I could only buy a ticket until the flight time of 23:55, and since the time had passed, my ticket was void. Despite repeatedly asking both the staff who issued the late check-in card and the customer service representative, I was misinformed due to their lack of knowledge and attention, resulting in my ticket being voided. I am very disappointed with Turkish Airlines for causing me distress by not ensuring their staff are knowledgeable and attentive. It is truly upsetting to encounter such a lack of information and care from a reputable company like Turkish Airlines.
