I Missed My Connection Flight Because Turkish Airlines Delayed My Flight
We had a connecting flight with Turkish Airlines - Anadolu Jet on August 28, 2023, at 13:55 from Mardin to Ankara, and then from Ankara to Dalaman. Due to a 45-minute delay of the Mardin to Ankara flight, we missed our connecting flight to Dalaman. Customer service directed us to the ticket sales office at the airport.
The attitude of the gentleman at the Mardin airport ticket sales office was as if he was working in a vegetable market rather than in the service sector (if I'm not mistaken, his name was Mr. S**B***, wearing a white shirt and a manager's uniform). He raised his voice and said that the best he could do for the delayed flight due to operational reasons was to change it to an evening flight.
Despite explaining that all our plans would change in the evening, that it takes 2.5 hours to get from Dalaman to Datça, and that we might not find a shuttle at that time, he only raised his voice further. As if it wasn't enough that we were already suffering, stranded at airports for hours, we were also scolded.
Operational reasons can happen, of course. There are rights for this. Saying 'if you want, stay in Ankara in the evening' is not a solution. While we have a paid hotel and a whole day of travel ahead of us, such attitudes do not suit a world-renowned company like Turkish Airlines.
Our demands:
1. Coverage of dinner at Ankara Esenboğa Airport.
2. Coverage of taxi fare from Dalaman Airport to Datça if necessary.
3. Bonus miles for the inconvenience caused. I hope we can resolve this quickly.
