I Experienced Significant Inconvenience Due To the Flight Cancellation By Turkish Airlines
Hello, my family and I had a flight from Istanbul Airport to London Heathrow Airport. After boarding the plane, we waited inside for 3 hours. Later, we were informed that the flight was canceled and we needed to disembark. After getting off the plane, we were left waiting for hours without any proper information. We were traveling to London in the evening to attend my brother's birthday, and due to THY's mishandling, we lost a whole day in London. The only compensation offered was either to be sent to a hotel 2 hours away from the airport or to receive a meal voucher. I spent ₺600 on a taxi - I am specifying the amount because it caused us both financial and emotional harm. THY did not provide proper information about the new flight. We received a message late at night stating that our luggage would be transferred to another flight. I believe THY should take other airlines as an example in this matter. I want our financial losses to be seriously compensated because THY's mismanagement caused us both financial loss and hours of unnecessary waiting. Our day in London was ruined, and we missed my brother's birthday, which was the reason for our evening travel. If the necessary actions are not taken, I will file complaints everywhere possible and even consider legal action if needed. What we experienced today was truly awful and a major blunder. Our reservation under the names B***** O**** and D**** O**** appears separately, but we had a family reservation for 3 people. I urgently request that the necessary actions be taken, and I believe you will see this as a necessity. I know that such a system exists in other international airlines. When similar incidents happened to my acquaintances, they received around 500 euros per person instead of going to a hotel, and you must provide us with the same. Our grievances have not been addressed in any way, and we have incurred additional harm. You cannot deceive anyone by saying such a thing does not exist; you must take action as soon as possible. If necessary, I will involve a lawyer because the hours of hassle I faced after yesterday's awful experience is truly unbecoming of Turkish Airlines, which we have always been proud of.
