I Experienced Inconvenience Due To the Flight Cancellation by Turkish Airlines
On 03.07.2023, our flight tickets for the Konya-Istanbul route for 4 people were canceled without any notification. Hours before the flight, I checked the app to confirm the details and found out that the flight was canceled and we were redirected to a different flight at a different time. To catch our Istanbul-Chicago flight, my spouse, our two children (aged 1.5 and 4), and I faced significant financial and emotional distress. Due to the holiday return period, we couldn't find bus, plane, or train tickets. My spouse and children had to travel by private car, while I had to travel to Istanbul on a bus in the assistant's seat with our luggage. Upon arriving at Istanbul Esenler, I took a taxi to the airport. The stress and the cost of this process were extremely exhausting for us. I have sent multiple emails to Turkish Airlines but have not received a clear response regarding the situation. Turkish Airlines claimed that they had sent SMS and email notifications about the flight cancellation but failed to provide proof when requested. I demand immediate compensation for the financial and emotional distress we experienced and proper action to be taken. If not resolved, I will continue with the complaint process.
