I experienced significant disrespect on my Turkish Airlines flight TK1859 from Istanbul to Madrid on September 4th. The flight was delayed by one hour due to unforeseen circumstances. While waiting in line to board, a Turkish Airlines employee offered me €400 and a room to stay if I rescheduled my flight to September 5th. Being 18 years old and knowing my family would allow it under safe conditions, I asked if the offer was definite. They confirmed, so I obtained permission from my family. I informed my hotel, school, and friends in Madrid that I would arrive a day later. Just before the flight took off, an announcement called for 'Lena o***' as if I were late for the flight. They told me to board, and I politely explained the situation. In response, a very rude gentleman, who identified himself as B***, shouted, 'No one promised you anything, we just told you to wait!' and then threatened, 'Board the plane or I'll cancel your ticket.' I explained that I had rescheduled my hotel, reservation, and plans based on their promise. B*** (a young blonde gentleman) took my boarding pass and threatened to tear it up. Under normal circumstances, if they had admitted a mistake and apologized, I would have been understanding. Unfortunately, they did not act in a humane manner. Five men stood in front of me, a 18-year-old girl, shouting disrespectfully. I managed to ask for B***'s name while boarding, hoping he did not give a false name.
