Transavia Charged Me €70 for My 10 kg Carry-On Bag

On June 28, 2026, I purchased a ticket for Transavia flight HV5011 from Amsterdam to Antalya. Before the flight, I also paid for a 15 kg checked baggage allowance. I had a standard-size 10 kg carry-on suitcase with me, which I had specifically prepared to take into the cabin so that I would not have to wait in line to check in my luggage.

When I was boarding the aircraft, a staff member told me that I had to check my 10 kg carry-on suitcase as checked baggage and demanded an additional €70 fee, stating that I would not be allowed to board the aircraft otherwise. During this process, the staff member was extremely rude and spoke to me in an intimidating manner, essentially saying, “If you do not pay €70, you cannot board the plane.” Even though I had already paid for a 15 kg baggage allowance in advance, I was forced to pay an additional fee on top of the baggage allowance I had already purchased.

I do not consider either the rude and disrespectful behavior of the staff member or the €70 additional charge for a standard-size 10 kg carry-on suitcase to be acceptable. I request a full refund of the €70 I was charged and ask Transavia to investigate the conduct of the staff member involved and take the necessary steps to prevent other passengers from experiencing similar treatment.
