In January 2026, I purchased Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille perfume from the Sephora store in Bakırköy, Istanbul, for $210. When I began using the perfume, I noticed that it had no scent at all—it was as if I were spraying water. Despite being known as a rich, vanilla-based fragrance, it had absolutely no projection or longevity on my skin or clothing, which led me to suspect that the product may be counterfeit or seriously defective.
As someone who has used only original perfumes for approximately 25 years, I have never experienced such an issue with any brand before. Following this concern, on February 16, 2026, I returned to the Bakırköy Sephora store where I purchased the product and explained the situation. I spoke twice with the assistant store manager. I was told that the product would be sent for inspection and that I would be contacted with an update. However, even after 15 days, I have not received any information. I have not been contacted by phone or through any other method, which has been extremely disappointing both in terms of the product and the handling of the process.
Due to the perfume having no scent and the complete lack of follow-up throughout the process, I am requesting a full and immediate refund of the $210 I paid for this Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille perfume to my credit card. Because of the loss of trust I have experienced, I have no intention of purchasing perfume from Sephora again.
