StubHub Refund Policy Doesn’t Cover Travel Risk and Lost Time
Today, I purchased tickets through StubHub for a basketball game that will take place on February 8, 2026, in Ataşehir, Istanbul. I can provide my order number if contacted. However, the fact that the tickets have not yet been delivered and that the system states they will only be sent approximately three hours before the game is causing me significant concern.
While researching online — especially on complaint websites — I found many negative reviews about StubHub. There are numerous complaints stating that tickets are often delivered very late, sometimes only shortly before the event begins. I also noticed that ticket prices on StubHub are significantly higher compared to other sellers for the same event. Since I paid well above market value, I feel misled, and this process does not inspire confidence.
When I contacted customer service, I was told that this is how the system works: the tickets will be delivered on the day of the game, and if they are not delivered, a refund will be issued. However, I will need to travel approximately two hours to reach the venue. If the tickets are not delivered on time, I will not only miss the game but also waste time and incur travel expenses. Simply stating that “a refund will be issued if not delivered” does not adequately compensate for this risk and potential inconvenience.
I request that StubHub send the tickets I purchased well in advance of the game in a manner that provides confidence and allows me to verify them before traveling to the venue. Otherwise, given that I paid a significantly higher price compared to other sellers, I expect additional assurances and a clear explanation, since any potential inconvenience would not be limited to a simple refund of the ticket price.
