Charged Extra Day for Late Vehicle Return at SIXT Despite Verbal Agreement

I rented a vehicle from SIXT for November 24-26, 2024. At the time of rental, I was informed that there was a one-hour grace period for returning the car. On November 26, I brought the car back to the office at 11:57 PM, just before the deadline. The staff member was busy handling another vehicle return, so I waited for approximately 8-9 minutes before completing the process.

However, when I received my invoice, it showed the return time as 12:05 AM, and I was charged for an additional day. No one informed me about this penalty, nor was there any warning. Is this my fault or a failure in SIXT’s communication and process? I demand a refund for the extra charge and a resolution to this unfair treatment.
