On July 27, 2025, I purchased a Segway Ninebot F3 Pro Scooter from Vatan Bilgisayar. At first, I was very happy with its motor performance, comfort, suspension system, and lighting. One of the main reasons I chose this model, however, was because it was advertised as water-resistant. On Segway’s official website, it specifically states that the scooter provides safe riding in rainy conditions. Trusting this, I took the scooter out during rainy weather, and it performed well.
That evening, I brought it home, made sure the charging port was dry, and plugged it in. The next day, in sunny weather, I noticed strange noises while riding. Upon closer inspection, I saw rust forming where the motor rotates near the rear wheel, and that was the source of the sound. This happened only five days after purchase. At first, I ignored it, but the noise became increasingly disturbing.
I contacted Segway customer service, explained the issue, and was told to bring the scooter in for service. Since I could only go on the weekend, I continued using the scooter during the week without problems—until Thursday evening. After charging, when I tried to ride again, the scooter powered on, but pressing the throttle did nothing. I restarted it: it moved for about five seconds, then stopped again. After adjusting settings, the issue persisted, and the display eventually showed a “Motor Sensor Error”. The scooter powers on but will not move.
The next day, I returned the product to the store, and they submitted a replacement request to Segway. I am now waiting for a response.
The fact that this scooter is marketed as rain-resistant but developed rust and failed after limited use in rainy weather is unacceptable. I expect Segway to replace my scooter under warranty and take responsibility for misleading advertising about water resistance. A premium scooter should not fail after only a few rides in conditions it was supposedly designed to handle.
