Samsung Refrigerator (Model: RT46K6000WW) and Poor After-Sales Service

I purchased a Samsung RT46K6000WW refrigerator in July 2020, and by November 2024, it began having cooling issues. I contacted Samsung’s authorized service, and the technician advised unplugging it for three days. After a quick inspection, he said it was “working fine for now” and left. Two months later, the same issue returned. This time, they diagnosed faulty parts and quoted a repair cost of around ₺7,000. As a retiree on a fixed income, I had to postpone it. A month later, food began spoiling, and I called again—this time they quoted ₺11,000, with just a one-year warranty. I was advised to buy a new fridge. Later, the same technician offered a “replacement program” for one-third the price of a new unit, but returned days later demanding ₺13,000 in repairs first. Another technician bluntly told me, “It’s up to God—maybe it’ll work, maybe not,” and reiterated that nothing was guaranteed. Even the replacement option would still cost around ₺25,000 for a ₺40,000 fridge. I’ve spent ₺2,000 on service visits alone, with no solution. Living in Izmir’s heat without refrigeration has been unbearable. Samsung’s service has shown no accountability—just broken promises and outrageous costs. I’ll never buy Samsung again and strongly urge others to think twice.

Dear Samsung Officials, On June 20 and 21, I was called by Samsung and during the conversation, the following 'procedure' was conveyed to me: A part replacement will be done for 13,000 TL, but there will be no cooling guarantee (as admitted by the technicians themselves). If this repair does not work, then a replacement can be made by paying a portion of the price of a new refrigerator. This is not a solution, it is a vicious cycle that causes financial and emotional harm to the customer! Problems I Experienced: As clearly stated by the technicians, there is a fundamental fault in the refrigerator's cooling system and the replaced parts may not solve the problem. Even Samsung service employees admit how unreliable this repair process is by saying, 'Don't waste your money, buy a new refrigerator.' The refrigerator I bought in July 2020 became completely unusable after just 4 years. My food is spoiling in the sweltering heat of Izmir and Samsung is still demanding thousands of liras from me! I am a retiree. I am trying to make ends meet under Turkey's difficult economic conditions. This attitude of Samsung is not only an example of a poor-quality product but also of heartless customer service! My Demands: ✔ Immediate replacement with a new refrigerator free of charge or a full refund. ✔ Refund of the 2,000 TL service fees paid. ✔ Compensation for financial and emotional damages. Final Warning: If Samsung does not resolve this issue, I will share this grave customer experience through the Consumer Arbitration Board, TÜKODER, and social media channels. I will also submit my complaint to the national press and consumer associations. I have run out of patience. I expect Samsung to urgently find a humane and reasonable solution to this problem.

It's been 3 weeks in the heat of Izmir and there has been no progress from Samsung. On top of that, they shamelessly call me to evaluate the service. The service report says I didn't get it repaired because it was expensive. That's not true at all; on the contrary, the service technician said even if we replace the part, there is still a chance it won't cool, so let us warn you in advance so you don't complain later. That's why I didn't get it repaired. He also added not to waste your time with Bsr, just buy a new one. What would you do if you were in my place? The Samsung representative only called to say 'this is the procedure.' This is the state of a Samsung refrigerator after 4 years.
