I purchased the Samsung RF85K90127F refrigerator on November 13, 2017. It worked perfectly until June 1, 2024, when both the top and bottom sections stopped cooling. I reported the issue to Samsung customer service, and two days later, a technician came and identified that the compressor had failed and had leaked oil into the evaporators. Although the compressor was covered by a 10-year warranty, I was told I would have to pay ₺11,500 to replace the three evaporators. My perishables in the top section went to waste, and to save the frozen items in the bottom section, I agreed to the repair. I even mentioned that I would take the issue to Consumer Court, but nothing changed. They only offered a 20% discount, so the repair ended up costing me ₺9,200.
I insisted that, given the extent of the repairs, the refrigerator should be replaced, but my request was denied. Now, less than a month later, the same issue has recurred. I filed another service request today. With the shelves fully stocked for the upcoming Eid al-Adha, I am worried that my food will spoil. All my home appliances were Samsung, but I am so disappointed with their lack of support that I will never purchase another product from them. The service is expected to come tomorrow and will likely need to order more parts, which means the repair won't be completed before July 10, 2024. Once again, I am left with spoiled food and a broken refrigerator.
