Origins Won’t Let Me Return One Product Unless I Send Back Free Gifts
On August 20, 2025, I purchased two products from Origins’ official website. I only want to return the tinted moisturizer; I plan to keep and continue using the other product. The item has not been opened. I had previously tried it at Sephora and liked it, but I’m worried the one I purchased may oxidize, so I decided to request a return.
When I contacted customer service about the return, I was told that I also had to send back the small sample testers and the fabric pouch that were included for free with my order. They said they would not provide a return code or process the return unless I sent those promotional items back as well. The testers and pouch were free promotional gifts. Since I only want to return one product, I’m having a hard time understanding why I’m required to return all the free gifts too. If I were returning both products, this request would make more sense — but asking for all promotions back for a single-item return doesn’t seem reasonable.
I haven’t tried any other method so far; I only spoke with customer service and received the same answer. I don’t agree with making the return of free promotional items mandatory or blocking my return because of this. I request that the return process for the product I purchased be initiated without tying it to the promotional gifts.
My order number is 651517935. I paid by credit card.
