About one year ago, I purchased a pair of New Balance 9060 sneakers from the New Balance store at Ankara Kentpark Mall, paying $184. I chose this brand trusting that it would be high quality and durable, but within a short period of time, the shoes developed serious tearing on the inside, separations at the front, and noticeable color fading.
The shoes were used only for daily, normal wear and were never subjected to harsh or improper use. I do not find it reasonable for the inner lining tearing to be classified as “user error”—it is physically unrealistic for a user to cause such internal damage under normal conditions.
Last month, I submitted the product to the Kentpark New Balance store requesting an inspection and replacement. After the inspection, the shoes were returned to me without any action taken, labeled simply as “user error.” For a product sold at a premium price point of $184, it is extremely disappointing that it would deteriorate in less than a year and that the brand would refuse to stand behind its product.
For this reason, I request that the shoes be re-examined in a fair and detailed manner, that the defect be acknowledged, and that the product be replaced with a new pair or fully refunded. Otherwise, I would like to state that I will be forced to pursue this matter through consumer protection authorities.
