MG ZS Suddenly Loses Power and Displays All Warning Lights
While driving my MG ZS, the vehicle suddenly displays all warning lights on the dashboard, stops responding to the accelerator, and becomes unable to move. I took the vehicle to Konya Motorcu authorized service several times regarding this dangerous issue, but each time they claimed they could not properly diagnose the problem.
Most recently, on Saturday, April 11, the exact same malfunction happened again while I was in traffic. This time, without turning the engine off, we immediately called the service center. The service manager and technician came directly to inspect the vehicle and determined that the issue was related to the throttle body. They informed us that the required part would be ordered under warranty coverage, and we left the vehicle at the service center.
However, a few days later, the service advisor called us back and stated that the Chinese headquarters had not approved the part order and instead requested that the fault be diagnosed again before any repair authorization would be given. As a result, no repair or replacement was performed.
We repeatedly explained that this is not a constantly repeating fault — sometimes the problem does not occur for weeks, while other times it can happen several times in one day. Despite this, the service department simply told us that they would continue test-driving the vehicle and wait for the malfunction to happen again. We also contacted Doğan Trend by email and phone multiple times, yet no actual solution was offered. The final response we received was essentially: “Come pick up your car and bring it back again whenever it breaks down.”
To make matters worse, the Service Manager at Konya Motorcu openly stated:
“We don’t experience this issue with other brands, but MG is like this. There’s nothing we can do.”
At this point, I feel completely abandoned between the dealership, MG Turkey, and the Chinese manufacturer, all shifting responsibility onto one another while leaving the customer without any real solution. It is extremely disappointing and frustrating to experience such a serious and potentially dangerous driving issue in a vehicle while the brand continues producing excuses instead of resolving the problem properly.
I request that MG immediately provide a permanent and reliable repair for this dangerous malfunction, approve the required warranty parts without further delay, and stop leaving customers in unsafe conditions while waiting indefinitely for the issue to happen again.
