I had been tracking the New Balance 530 for a long time before finally buying a pair for myself and my daughter from Sneaks Up Vadi İstanbul around March of last year. I was so excited that I didn’t even want to wear them at first. We saved them to wear in the summer, expecting both style and durability. But unfortunately, this turned into a major disappointment.
Within just 2 months of light use, the mesh on both pairs began to fray and tear at the exact same spots—a clear sign of a material or manufacturing defect. I’ve worn countless sneaker brands over the years, and I’ve never encountered this level of poor quality, especially not at this price point.
Even shoe repair shops admit that this is a recurring issue with the NB 530, and many consider it a production flaw. Still, like many others have reported, New Balance simply blames the user, dismisses the issue as “wear and tear,” and refuses replacements or refunds—despite the fact that the shoes are under a 2-year warranty.
