In July 2025, my Mini Countryman began having a steering issue where the wheel would catch and make noise. I took the vehicle to the Kosifler Mini Antalya Service Center. Their inspection indicated that there was dust buildup in the steering joint, which they cleaned, but the problem continued.
Since the issue wasn’t resolved, I went back to the service center and also spoke with customer service. This time, they said a new service record needed to be opened to diagnose the issue. I was told that after the diagnosis, they would inform me of the cost, and that if I chose not to have the repair done at their service center, I would need to pay a $441 diagnostic fee. I have not made any payment so far, but the diagnostic fee is being requested.
My vehicle’s warranty expired in June 2025. However, according to information I received from another service center, the issue may not be caused solely by “dust” — it may actually be a known “chronic steering column” defect in these vehicles. Since the issue first appeared very close to the end of the warranty period, and because the initial service misdiagnosed the problem, my expectation is that the diagnosis should be performed free of charge and that the repair should be covered under goodwill warranty.
I request that my grievance be resolved and that the necessary support be provided.
