On September 24, I took my Mini Cooper to the authorized service center for a rear brake pad replacement warning. I was informed that the front brake pads would soon need replacement as well, so I agreed to replace them to avoid future inconvenience. Afterward, I noticed the brakes were slightly better but still not fully effective. On my return trip from Ankara to İzmir, I heard a metal scraping sound from the brakes.
I contacted Borusan, and they confirmed this was not normal, advising me to visit the authorized service center in İzmir. There, it was determined that the inner side of the rotor was severely scratched, a condition likely present during my earlier service in Ankara but overlooked. Now, I’m told both the rotors and the brake pads need replacement, with a charge equal to what I already paid in Ankara.
I requested the brake pad replacement to be covered under warranty and agreed to pay for the rotors, as this oversight should not be my responsibility. Despite contacting both service centers, I’ve received no resolution or follow-up. I refuse to pay for another brake pad replacement due to their failure to identify the issue initially. This experience has left me unwilling to use Mini Cooper’s authorized services in the future. I do not expect an apology or further communication; I just want this matter resolved fairly.
