We trusted the Marriott brand and chose to attend their Halloween event, but a series of negative experiences left us disappointed and caused us to leave early.
Upon arrival, my wife’s bag was to be searched by a male staff member, which made us extremely uncomfortable. Despite expressing our concerns, the staff insisted rudely. There wasn’t even a warm greeting or basic courtesy like "Welcome" to start the event on a positive note.
The drinks served were of surprisingly poor quality, with excessive ice despite our requests otherwise. The event was held on the terrace with open windows, and no heaters were provided despite the cold weather. When I asked to retrieve my coat, I was rudely told I couldn’t exit because "the hotel doesn’t allow it."
When we tried to stand in a corner to stay warm, we were told the area was off-limits. A staff member who identified as the manager stated that standing by the table required a ₺2000 fee. This approach clearly prioritized profit over guest comfort and satisfaction.
To make matters worse, when we decided to leave early, we were charged ₺300 for valet parking. Upon receiving our car, we noticed the climate settings had been altered without our consent—an unacceptable invasion of privacy.
We expected a premium experience from Marriott but were met with rude staff, poor service, and discomfort. We demand an explanation, an apology, and appropriate compensation for this deeply unsatisfactory experience. Marriott must take immediate steps to ensure such incidents don’t happen again.
