I purchased a KitchenAid stand mixer from Media Markt Berlin in January 2023 because I trusted the brand and wanted to ensure that if any issues arose, I could receive support from Media Markt Turkey. Unfortunately, when I needed service, I encountered contradictory information and terrible customer service.
On December 21, 2024, my KitchenAid mixer started malfunctioning, so I contacted Media Markt Turkey's customer service to confirm my warranty status. I was assured that my 2-year warranty was valid and was directed to the Media Markt store at Sakarya Serdivan AVM for service. However, when I arrived at the store, I was told that international purchases only have a 1-year warranty and that they would not even offer a paid repair service.
I called customer service again, explaining that they misled me, and filed a complaint. Their response? "The customer representative who gave you that information no longer works here, so we can't help you." Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed a former employee and refused to provide a solution, despite having phone records proving they gave me false information.
This is completely unacceptable. Media Markt cannot just wash their hands of responsibility and leave customers stranded due to their own mistakes. I am filing complaints with the Ministry of Trade, CİMER, and the Consumer Arbitration Board.
I expect Media Markt to honor their warranty commitment or, at the very least, offer paid repair services for the product I purchased from one of their stores. Otherwise, I will never shop with Media Markt again and will actively warn others about their deceptive warranty policies.
